… No way is it I.ifa, iifa wouldn't make any sense. Lifa = Life. Lifa Tree definatly... That's what I always called it, and what it always was known as everywhere else!
… Really, I'm VERY sure. Go check it if you want, I'm sure it's Iifa. You see it as you near the tree, it says Iifa. If they made a mistake and forgot a capital it would have been lifa, but the l an I look different in the game.

just checked, it says "lifa" looking exactly like that. in ff9 both a capital "i" and non capital "L" look identical. all the other places on the world map are spelt with a capital as first letter. this means its either Iifa or they spelt Lifa without a capital by accident
… They didn't. Because I've seen the PC version at my old friend's one day, and it still was Iifa. They always correct every mistake in the PC version, they did the same with FFVII (even the "this guy are sick!" was gone..)
