Cid in FF Games

I've noticed that Cid is a Reacuring character in FF are the Cid characters related ? (Thats assuming all FF games are based in the same Dimension\Universe)

If not are they the alternate realities of each other in another Dimension (See "Sliders" or "The One")

Or Are they just a trend that square puts in ??

A lot of names are reused throughout the series, Cid is but one of them. Think Ragnarok. Think Wedge and Biggs. Chocobos and Cactuars are an everlasting phenomenon, as well as the Weapons.

Chocobos, Moogles, Cactuars and etc are a species.

But Cid is a Person and he has come up more often than most in fact I dont know any other people that Reacure in FF Games.

Maybe he is the Link Between the FF Games or maybe they like using that name.

Cid Highwind (Mechanic likes Flying)
Cid from FF8 (Runs a Flying Mercenery school)
Regent Cid in FF9 (Is involved in building Ships)

Of course Cid reappears.
In IV, Cid Pollidenia is an engineer who works on Baron's airships; his favourite one being called the Highwind. ^_^
In X and X-2, there is another Cid. I haven't played the game, but I think he has a thing for flying and airships too.

Cid from FF4 was the best. He had the greatest theme song.

Also Mitch. Please play other FF games. Not all Cids were pilots. They were engineers.

Actually in FFVI cid was an engineer in the Magitek Facilities, which have nothing to do with airships if you've played the game.

Um..quite different. Engineers are builders....pilots fly the planes... this is very simple basic definitions. Honestly...I feel like I'm teaching a bunch of 3rd graders here.

Alright. But we all agree his name has been used way too many times.

Even in X and in The 1st Movie.

Can someone provide another "Character" who is present in more than one FF game Except for "Mog and Choco".

Dont recall one at the moment.
