Impossible

Ive hit the impossible. For me, for all FF kings all around the world. Here it is

Ramza(knight)-247 health(the highest i can make it)

I cant train because i am in a battle when I begin (Wiegraf)
I begin the battle and he attacks me with lighting strike(168 damage)

I try to attack, he counters, i die

I try to break his armor, he blocks it, moves away and hits me again with lighting strike(168 damage=Im dead)

Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Impossible

Ah yes the infamous 1v1 Piegraf battle. Wait until you fight the one after that, and then the one after that. This is definitely one of the harder stretches in the game, but don't give up.

  Heres what I did:

1.) You must have the monk skill Chakra equipped. This a MUST. I cannot stress this enough. It gives you a chance to heal yourself and you should also consider taking some other monk skills with you. Wave fist and Earth slash are great for this battle.

2.) Try to hit him with ranged attacks so he can't counter, and also because this puts more distance between you and him. I always let him come to me, hit him, and then run back to put as much distance between us as possible. This way you can heal with chakra without taking more damage then you heal.

3.) I would recommend changing your main class to monk. I just think monks rock and you can still equip another skill if you want. Just make sure you have equip armor as this will give your monk a good HP boost.

I saw that you said you can't train which really sucks. Hopefully you have enough jp to get the right monk skills. If not you might have to go back to an earlier save or maybe start over, which would suck.
When I came into this battle I think I was able to survive 3-4 lightning strikes. Piegraf is powerful but he can be beat. Anyhow I hope that helps and good luck against that fiend.

My response: I think Targos's fate hinges on how much Shawford can pay us from the Targos treasury.

I always won as a Monk as well. Auto-Potion from a Chemist is nice as well. My strategy was very straight forward. as a Monk I'd have the Archer 'Concentrate' equiped. That way he couldn't dodge or block my attack. First round, Accumulate, Second round, Hit him, 3rd round...the real Fight.

Ah the Windmill fight.. Thats a toughie, But I use the same thing pretty much. Monk for the win. Just learn some really powerful skills that can help you like the Archer Concnetrate, also Level a decent amount. Personally you will have a VERY hard time if you are under 40 by the time you get to Wiegraf at Riovanes. Usually in Chapter 1 I try to master as Much of Squire, Knight, Archer, and Monk as I can. The rest is just extra. If you can get a Lancer. VERY Powerful creature they are. Or try to get a Red Chocobo from breeding a normal Yellow one. If you get Mediator you can invite them. Definitely a good idea to have a Red Chocobo at times. Choco Meteor is devestating.

All you have to do is keep walking around. Eventually the chocobos will breed and you will get a black one. I'm not sure but I think you need a black one in your party in order to get a red one. Either way just keep one black and one yellow around. Once you have them keep walking around the map (use that time to level up or something) and eventually you will get a red chocobo.

I used 2 Archers and 1 Priest (equipped with Sword) to beat Wiegraf and his cronies, yet to start training Monks, try this as an alternative, good luck!
