Looking back on it...
Ya know, looking back on this movie, doesn't it seem like they kinda forced the characters into the scene?
Think about it, before that Bahamut fight, Vincent, Rude, Reno, Rufus, Cloud, and Tifa wer the only main characters (that are alive) from FF7 that actually played some form of a role in the movie.
Vincent helped Cloud and Marline, and explained what he had been finding out, plus saved Tsang and Elena.
Cloud well, did loads of stuff, he's like the whole focus of the movie.
Tifa answered a phone. Fought Loz. And yelled at Cloud. yup, thats about it.
Reno talked with Cloud a bit. Tried to attack him, and failed. Then he teamed up with Rude to fight Loz and Yazoo.
Rude stood there and looked pretty, talked a couple of times, and fought Loz and Yazoo with Reno. Plus the poor bastard got his shades broken, got hit upside the head by Reno, and had Reno fall on him.
Rufus played mind games with kadaj and tried to get Clouds help.
Thats it. Ok, if you wanna get really techincal, Beret and Yuffie called Cloud. but still, thats it. THen, everyone seems to come together to fight Bahamut, then leave the rest to Cloud. Kinda pathetic no? I mean !@#$, I woulda been happy if it was just Cloud that fought bahamut, I mean it seems like it HAD to be him to kill the !@#$ thing anyways.
