Re: Kinda creepy...
I really don't like them, my mum think their a good idea. Think she's one of the few people i know that likes them.
Strange thing is, walking around Plymouth city centre where i tend to go for sat. day, you have NO idea where the damn things are placed. Then you watch the news and they show actual footage from the camera, and you realise a) How well hidden some are b) Just how much they can see.
I don't mind the odd camera here and there to monitor actual crime, but seeing so many watching so many people...
Maybe for a different argument, "It doesn't matter if your not doing anything wrong!"
Cept the few with speakers on will bark instructions at you if you litter. "The person in the dark shirt, you are violating public whats-it, please pick up your litter and place it in a bin. Thank you."
And in the newspaper they made a big deal out of this one;
"You in the dark clothing. Please put down the traffic cone and continue on your way. Yes, you! Thank you." Think he was trying to smash up a telephone box with it.

Re: Kinda creepy...
I'm not too keen on them myself. I always feel as though I'm being watched, but isn't it because we are being watched. Cameras are everywhere-In the front of ATMs, in shops, in public areas, on the sides of buildings and (not speed cameras) cameras recording every single car that goes on most major roads.
I suppose it might be (might be) worse without them, but it seems to be over the top. Who knows what they might be using them for or where they could be hiding them?
Not to get paranoid though, you'll be fine unless you're doing something dubious.
