Wait 10 years and we'll know some more. =/ Go back to yer Ipod and listen to tunes till then. Its a little funny that it takes that long as the planet may have got wiped out but we wouldn't know till 10 years had passed. quote: I hear it'll take like 10 years to get an image of it by telescope. And that's just an image, we still won't be able to work out whether there's life on the planet.. -_- Isn't it 20 light years away. I remeber reading about the planet in the newspaper article. Not sure its very substaniable to human life but i would think there would be some form of manifestaion of life on the planet. nondisclosed_email@example.com (bavalom)Sat, 06 Oct 2007 19:04:01 +0000 Re: Alone?https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p291911,from=rss#post291911https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p291911,from=rss#post291911I can believe in life on other planets... especially since we hardly know what is out there anyway, and its almost too much to comprehend but i can believe in the idea of life out there.. but i can't see contact with 'that life out there' happening in the 2000's. More like... 7000's. i.e, not for a very, very, very... VERY long time. We think we've got amazing technological advances but: quote:I hear it'll take like 10 years to get an image of it by telescope. It is like if we build AI, they might enslave us and use us for energy! I am sorry our technology is not up to your expectations. Where do you think we should be with our technology...? I am sure we can phone NASA or the CIA, so we can tell them that they should spending billions on the idea that we might be invaded. Hey, let’s get those superlaser cannons up... nondisclosed_email@example.com (General Queeaqueg)Thu, 16 Aug 2007 20:09:32 +0000 Re: Alone?https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p291889,from=rss#post291889https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p291889,from=rss#post291889People can't deny this. The place where our technology is right now concerns me. The universe, for all we know can be billions of times bigger than what we believe it is. There's millions of galaxies... why pretend that out of seeming trillions of planets, that ours is the only one that can support life? The scary thing is... if their out there... and they have the technology to find us... we have literally no hope of surviving if a war breaks out. People have no idea what's out there. And I personally refuse to believe that were all safe. Also you would have to be quite arrogant to believe that we know alot of what's out there. For what’s it worth... there could be no limit to the universe. It's not like it could suddenly stop. Space will always go on, further and further. Whether or not there are things out there in the greater beyond (theoretically predicting that there is a stop to matter and substance) doesn’t necessarily mean that the planetoid object couldn’t just start up again. O/T: Super Mario Galaxy will easily be the best Wii game yet.nondisclosed_email@example.com (FF810)Fri, 10 Aug 2007 22:47:26 +0000 Re: Alone?https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p290625,from=rss#post290625https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p290625,from=rss#post290625I forgot to post a topic on this. It's pretty interesting news, I hear it'll take like 10 years to get an image of it by telescope. And that's just an image, we still won't be able to work out whether there's life on the planet.. -_- It's so interesting though, I'd really like that to happen at some point in my lifetime aswell. But what if they're unfriendly and we have that whole war of the worlds thing going on. xD No one can say life doesn't exist outside this Earth.. There's like thousands of Galaxies, so there MUST be other life on other planets. But I think its a matter of a REALLY REALLY long amount of time before we find life or vice versa. This planet is like trillions of miles away..nondisclosed_email@example.com (Zeen)Fri, 27 Apr 2007 22:03:34 +0000 Alone?https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p290620,from=rss#post290620https://bffdreamsforums.runboard.com/p290620,from=rss#post290620By now you all might have heard about the recently discovered planet that is supposedly quite Earth like. That said what is everyone's thoughts on the subject of extraterrestrial life??? Do you believe it exists??? I certainly do and I think its just a matter of time before we find it or it finds us. I'm hoping it'll happen during my lifetime. I'm also curious on what our more religious members here think about it. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Grenseal)Fri, 27 Apr 2007 19:33:32 +0000
