Sudoku

I'll kick this section off.

I like Sudoku. Anyone else?
Try some if you aren't sure!

I'll admit I don't really play them online. I write them out on scrap paper and work them out on my own.

Sometimes this does cause me to mess up, in writing it out wrong. But not that often.
I give up if I get a puzzle wrong twice, sometimes three times.

I will say it's one HELL of an annoying game when you mess up.
Because you can't usually tell where you messed up. emoticon

If you don't know how to play, it's easy. (Well I think it is.)

Each has to have the numbers 1-9.
Then each row has to have 1-9. (Both up and down)
You can not have the same number twice! In a row OR box!
(Now the puzzles DO make little patterns, but that honestly doesn't matter. Don't worry about that at all, or you'll drive yourself mad!)

Here's an example using 5s, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The red lines show where 5 can't go. And the green box shows where it goes.

I have tried to solve these before, but I've yet to solve even one. I'll spend a while going through it, and when I realise that i've made a mistake, I can't work backwards and start again, it gets confusing. Even the easy ones. I prefer other types of puzzle games myself, like Tetris and Mahjong.

Edit: Hey, I managed one! It did tell me where i was making mistakes though. 12 minutes! I'll try it again later, to see if i can get the hang of it. I know what i used to do wrong, I used to just fill in random numbers, I didn't solve it a box at a time.

Make notes!

I usually write mine out so I can write notes.
Notes being little numbers in the boxes they can go in. (In pencil!)
Then sometimes you can use the process of elimination.

I also use workbooks, so I can check my answers!
