Re: This Place Is Pretty Dead Now...... Ok... does anyone else have problems with posting or is it just me? (Why does http://benchi.crowd9.com pop up and ask for my username and password?)
Anyhoo. I still linger around runboard, though I'm sad to see this board among others, as bavalom said, 'fall.'
Re: This Place Is Pretty Dead Now...... It happens to any one who tries to post on ffdreams. This happened once before.
One of the users on THIS board is stealing bandwidth, perhaps by accident. In the most likely of cases it is probally a user who took an avatar from another site without there permission. And so this annoying thing will keep poping up till the user sorts it out.
Last time, i knew who the user was and managed to get him to change his avatar. But now we don't know which user it could be and knowing the boards luck, i bet he/she dosen't post here anymore.
So its stuck with us i'm afraid.
Thats right. I saw the very begining when this board took off. When i started it only had 8000 posts in total and had been here for 3 years. Then all of a sudden we started to get regular members. And now our total has risen from 8000 posts to something over 250,000 posts.
Its the regular members that make people come back and stay. Though this board no longer has a chance of that now. We no longer get a new member each day like what we used to get. To cap it all off FF isn't as popular as it once was. Times are changing, whether we like it or not, we are no the old genaration of diehard fannatics of something that once stood great in all our hearts ......Final Fantasy

I'd disagree with that.
Final Fantasy XIII will probably be the best selling game in the series (although it's on two systems this time around) and XII sold over 5 million copies which is about the same amount IX sold. Final Fantasy is always most popular when a new console roles around:
FF7 - 9.8 million copies sold
FF8 - 8.2 million copies sold
FF9 - 5.1 million copies sold
---
FF10 - like 8 million copies sold (source says 6.6, but I know it's higher than that since that source was from only six months since X launched)
FF12 - 5.2 million copies sold
See the trend? Once XIII and Versus XIII hit Final Fantasy will be as popular as its ever been, but that doesn't seem to be for awhile.
Also, I post on the IGN boards which are probably the most active boards on the net. The single Final Fantasy forum gets loads of posts per day and IGN in all gets about 70,000 to 80,000 posts per day, more in the summer. I'm all for getting the board back on its feet, but doing so without Zeen would prove hard. I'll continue to post on IGN and Runboard simultaneously either way.
Either way, I hope this forum gets beck on its feet.
It hasn't been completely dead though, I've gotten 132 posts since the unban and not 1 of them was spam and I don't consider this post spam either, regardless of the forum it's in.

Everone hopes FF13 is going to be great, but i wouldn't get your hopes up. Besides you just told me off for rating games that have sold the most. What a complete U-turn.
I would agree with the slight trend that appears, however, you can't expect the trend to keep going on, or receive the same past-time results. It may or may not happen, but when a new console comes out, it has the habit of putting back the spark of life in the series.
The name final fantasy though is slowly becoming dull, and greater rpg games are starting to come out, replacing final fantasy. I personally think the series has gone on long enough. It just seems silly to keep dragging it on.

If IGN is the most active boards on the net, then 80,000 posts a day is very low. I have been to forum boards that rake in 100,000 plus, posts a day. One of the other problems about runboard is, it dosen't get noticed as much. Another one is to keep the urge going to remain active on the boards. Though we have always had a problem with in the past.

I have to complaiment you FF810. Your recent posts have been superb. You've changed for the better.
+1 karma for you :type:
Might even consider making you a mod on my board, once its finished. Thats if you want the position, of course.
