American - french relations

Lol, now this is a good one, this has been brought up again with Prez Bush Jr being here in europe for afew days.

French wernt to happy about the war with Iraq, so the relation between these two countries have been quite skechy. Apparently quite a number of places in the US have changed the name "French Fries" into "Freedom Fries" because things have gotten so bad.

What do you think, is this just a stupid over reaction about the Iraq war ?

I'd say its stupid. I haven't seen a place that has renamed them "freedom fries" or as you would say "freedom chips". Of course people have the right to call them what they want, so maybe next we'll see freedom burger instead of hamburger.

I think this is asinine. The french are simpletons. I swear.. You know the British and the Americans save their asses more often then they have ever even helped us. Yet they won't even comemorate those soldiers that died for their weak selves. Useless. I have 0 respect for the french. They're country should be worshipping the British and the Americans.

It's funny how nobody remembers that the French saved the Americans' asses in Revolution. Remember a certain Layafette?

Very true, but what have they done since then? Beg for help. Then never repay the debt. Then start crap because of it.

I don't get why they call french fries french fries, they weren't made in France, and I'm pretty sure french toast wasn't either, among a few other things.

I believe it has to do with the way the potato is cut. Its cut in a french style, therefore you get french fries. French Toast I don't konw about.

Well I know that french vanilla was named after the guy who made it. His last name was French (I think his full name was Robert French, but don't quote me on this). Maybe that applies to the other foods too, dunno.

It was the cafeterias in some government buildings in DC.

Lieza - I'm pretty sure that disagreeing with attacking Iraq isn't "starting crap." What else have the French done that makes them worthy of being drawn and quartered, in your estimation?
