… Lmao, omg what an outrage! Only about all schools in England have to wear school uniforms. It's even as strict as girls have to wear a certain pair of trousers the school chooses. Atleast it was when I was in school.
I hate them, though its quicker to get ready in the morning. As I didn't have to decide what to wear all the time.
… I don't think there's a single school here that has to wear uniforms... All schools in Belgium have to wear uniforms, but we just don't. I guess it can be easier, but it's more fun to see how people want to dress up. We have two really heavy metal punk rockers, you know what I mean..

… Its definatly better NOT to wear uniform. It makes a child feel more "at home" and not like they're in a Prison or a Job. It should'nt have to feel so forceful, know what I mean? Like in college here you can wear what you want, be and feel treated like an adult. That's why I like it so much better than school.
I remember we had a day every year where we could wear what we wanted. And they charged us 50p for it.
… haha, but think of it this way. How would you feel, if you were the principal of a middle school, and you had little 6th grade girls, wearin shirts that showed cleveage?

… I wouldn't go so far as to uniform, in my honest opinion. They should follow certain guidelines of course, like how much flesh is shown. So the school remains well kept and smart.
… Uniforms are quite necessary, my schools I went to was quite plain, I didn't actualy wear the uniform in primary school, I just wore a normal white shirt instead and it was fine. In secondary it was literaly just white shirt black jumper with the logo on the jumper, and normal trousers or mid-long skirt, wasnt that restricting.
Because we were a pretty crappy state secondary school, we didn't have to wear ties or anything fancy like that.
When on school trips, its easier for us to be reconised, so we don't get lost or left behind, and because most of us would bugger off during lunch to go into town, it just helped show we wernt skipping.

… But you just said your uniform was quite plain. It'll be quite hard to recognize someone straight away as being from a certain school if it was basic. If its just a logo whats the point? They could ask the student what group they belong to.
Once you enforce wearing uniforms in schools then some are going to be even stricter. For the first 3+ years I was in, girls HAD to wear a skirt. Even in the winter. And boys still now HAVE to wear a tie, even at a certain length. Even for P.E, we had to wear a special uniform. Its too controling in my opinion.
No one really cares if you ditch school, there may be the odd police officier around, but they target any children who are truanting, regardless of uniform. And besides, if they wanted to truant, they'd probably change clothes quite easily, especially if you have a very basic uniform like a white shirt.
… I dont really care, there are some advantages with school uniforms. As long as it doesnt suck its fine. Schools overhere are a bit sexist in my opinion when it comes to uniforms Females had to wear sometimes very specific that the schools themselfs gave out. While the only thing males had to wear were jeans and a white shirt.
