Re: Smoking
Yup, ya did.
But I don't see how you could feasibly enforce a ban in open air public spaces like a park.
I think it would be more reasonable to ban it in fully enclosed public spaces such as bars or restaurants.
Getting back to what acebloke said:
I see pubs and smoking linked culturally, but then again we have other examples of cultures based on activities which hurt others. The middle east and war, prostitution and violence, all inextricably linked but thats not to say we should let it continue.
My god, I can't believe I'm almost for the ban. If a ban was enforced I think a lot of people would be forced out of smoking in front of others, so it could go either way; driven underground and made to seem more dangerous than it really is (think cannibis) OR more people would be put off thus smoking would be seen as highly antisocial, with only a majority partaking in this....wonderful....yummy....
oh no I've got the urge!!

Re: Smoking
Hmm you seem to think that all smokers are hooked for life.
I gave up pretty easily, it was no big deal. I only smoked 1 or two a day regularly. Hardly gonna kill on the spot me unless I kept going. Our dad on the other hand has smoked all his life (me only 2 years).
Small pubs are the worst for smoke, why don't you try and find a nice big open bar...there are some in greenwich zeen, and the cinema there is very very nice i.e. good area for nights out with your friends.
What uhmmm, drugs were these people taking?

Re: Smoking
quote: That's like 1/20 people who I know have been smoking awhile.
Does that include me?
