Re: Same sex marriages?
quote: Arbiter Azariah wrote:
I don't see anything wrong with it. I've generally evolved through the years to be tolerant of all people, regardless of any differences they may have. From this stems a belief of equality. Discrimination is bad, but Affirmative Action is not so hot either.
As for regards to religion, The Book of Leviticus states that Homosexuality is socially unacceptable, but a book that also states that the eating of shellfish is a heresy will not generally be more than a curiosity to me.
The 3000+ book put forward ideas for how a society needs to be run. Homosexuality was considered unnatural, and considering the need for 'normal' families to support the community, anything such as that would be considered socially unacceptable.
However, a proper Christian belief would be to love others as you love yourself, and strongly consider equality and justice for all.
Generally, I'm all for gay marriages. ^_^
the shellfish...After Jesus died on the cross doing things like that were stopped you didnt have to eat certain things you didnt have to repent every year with a sacrafice anymore you had to believe in jesus christ asking him into your heart and believeing in him with all your heart and repenting of you sins to go to heaven...I do not like gay marriage at all I hate it its so wrong..

Re: Same sex marriages?
quote: There is no gay gene. It has to do with your upbringing and the situation around you. For instance if someone has been abused by a member of the opposite sex, they may think everyone that is that gender is like that. It is wrong to say: "it's your nature to be gay, so therefore it is alright". It's my nature to be lustful, does that mean I have the right to do so?
If a child say, grew up watching his father abuse his mother, then he will grow up thinking thats the way to go. Like Daemon said. And most likely s/he will do the same thing, which we all know is wrong, as it HURTS people. Being gay/lesbian doesn't hurt anyone else. I used to be uite anti-gay, but now I see if it doesn't bother me, I'm alright. And if it makes them happy.
Also animals can be gay too, we humans are animals aswell. Are you saying because of the way a dog grew up makes it gay? If it was brought up differently it'll be straight?
