What do you think.... What do you think is the biggest issue targeting teens in our generation? Racism, image, drugs, depression, school, family, career/jobs etc.
We're doing something like this at school right now and it just got me thinking on what you guys might think.
I think the media and image is a pretty important issue. Because the media makes it out that everyone has to be all skinny, have the perfect figure etc. I suppose it's worse for girls at times. And this leads to many girls getting depression, suffering from anorexia and bullemia nervosa.
And I suppose drugs are an important issue as well. There are a few people who I know personally who are taking drugs because they think it's cool to do so. They try to keep up this image of theirselves but no one thinks anything of them because they're just wrecking their lives.
… Partly Racism, but mostly the idea that anyone who isnt supportive of the western world is somehow wrong, when I say this, I'm talking about Communist Brazil, partly china (although its alot more accepted now) Iran (which is pretty peaceful really) and other Islamic nations that are spread out to be "evil" by western media.
I think Media/Political bias has got a little out of hand in the last few years, and so many people eat it up.
--- Freedom to Lebanon, Liberation from Israel, Stop the occupation and killing of civilians.
… I was also thinking about how we have our opinions on the government yet we aren't allowed to vote yet even though some of us have very strong views on politics etc.

… I think racism is a big issue, and its the lowest thing ever. Which makes this world quite sad that it still exists, and most likely always will.
Theres also family problems, as you get older you may start to think different from your parents, or realize things they may not want to hear. Which could result in many arguments and disputes, unless your lucky and have great parents who will always love, understand and respect you then your fine.
There's also school, infact I think school is the main thing. You can get bullied in school, or feel lower than other classmates. You can fail in exams, fall behind on work. Theres alot of pressure with school. Where as college they treat you as an adult and it feels all so care free, well it is for me anyway. ^_^
The second I left school at 16 everything started turning up for me, probably were the happiest times of my life. Well it wasnt long ago.. I sound like some old lady telling another "back in my day" story, lol. So what we talking about again?
Family problems can drive you absolutely insane, I know from first hand experience. But I've never really had any trouble from school. Never been bullied etc, might be due to group of friends at times. Exams add a lot of pressure. Aaargh....

… Yeah I know alot on family problems, my family is craazy. Then, arent they all?
I havent been bullied bullied, I've had people annoy me and say nasty things but it was never serious or anything. It still can be pretty hard on a child, some even take their own life because they can't handle bullying. I just hated school because I wasnt getting educated at all, the classrooms sucked, the students were all weird, throwing stuff at people across the room and teachers not being able to control anyone, etc, etc. For me, I'd say school shouldn't exist, I learnt way more watching television than I did in school, lol.
… I was talking to one of my friends and she was telling me that religion is something thst affects her stronly as a teenager. It wasn't her choice, just something that she was born into. And even if she wants to become an atheist, she can't because her parents are so into their religion. She finds it hard to continue her religion in a country that doesn't always support from the public. And there are many things that she doesn't want to conform to but can't possibly do so.
I think it is pretty hard to be religious sometimes. Sometimes you're put down about it by atheists of the sort. Other times you're criticised for what you believe in.
