Who is the strongest in FF6

I would mostly go with Sabin, because he is very stong, but Shadow, Cyan, and Edgar are srong too.

It depends who you bring along with you andwho you keep and levelling up the most..
In my 'ultimate' game it was Setzer. He almost mastered all Esper magic/skills and he had the highest level.

Cyan's sword techniques and Terra's magic power were very strong as well.
I also liked Shadow's throwing command.
And, yes Edgar's Auto-crossbow was really useful.

I don't know, with the exception of Gau, Umaro and Gogo, all my characters were strong.

Personally I have to say that Celes is the strongest. Given the right weapon and armor. She is practically invincible. With Runic at her side she can just absorb all magical attacks. And with a good Wep and Armor she can just dominate the forces.

I'd agree with Lieza about Celes overpowering, but I'd still have to go with edgar. Even later in the game, that auto crossbow bolts the crap out of all the random encounters.

I disagree. The autocrossbow is good for the earlier portions of the game but later on it doesn't do much damage to enemies. The chainsaw and drill are much more effective, and the noiseblaster is always fun.
Locke was my strongest but in terms of strength Celes is the strongest with gogo being second. If used right gogo can easily dish out tons of damage, he can use any of the characters skills, and you have to love mimic.

Sabin is perfect. He can do his blitz and take out any thing. He is my 4th favorite FF character ever.

I voted for Gau. Most people never use this guy. If you train him well, he can be the strongest character in the game by far. Many of his attacks do 2500-4000 damage, and some are instant kills.
