I give it a 8, story was great, graphics were good for the time, soundtrack was awesome. Only problem i had with the game is in the World of Ruin. The story kind of falls apart, and it turns more into a Dragon Warrior game where you just walking around leveling so you can fight the main boss. And if even if you save Shadow he's still out of the story pretty much, which bothered me. Konami did the same thing in Suikoden.

--Also, there was much better RPG's being churned out by Enix, Nintendo and Konami at the time--
Like Illusion of Gia by Enix, awesome game, better graphics than FFVI.
--7 is a good game, cause it was well done, it does well to keep players interested in the game for such a long time; something I havent seen in any game, previous or after, except FF10 out of all the Final Fantasies. And this is coming from a 2D lover who hates the playstation era.--
VI made a big impact on the console rpg community, that is still remembered by those who were into that scene at the time. There are quite alot of fans of VI, most are probably in there mid 20's. I believe if Square would of made VI for Playstation instead of Snes it would of been the game that the 3rd generation of FF players rant about. Personally my 3 favirote FF games are IV, VI, and yes Mystic Quest V was to short, and not very intresting, i thought. Probably why we didnt get it released in the states. 1, 2, 3 were all pretty much Dragon Warrior Clones, in my opinion of course 3 of the 4 on gameboy weren't even FF games, just renamed as. So what i'm getting at is worlds colide because of different generations of taste. It's like hating your parents music, and seeing pictures of them in the past and saying what the?

I'd give it a 9. It had some good music, good story, good characters and kept me playing through it quite intently, so it was a good game and all, but it wasn't perfect.
